Pressure sensors or pressure transducers are used to measure the pressure in a wide variety of systems. Normally a maximum pressure range of 1.5 times the maximum pressure in your system must be selected due to the pressure spikes or continuous pulsations appearance in most hydraulic or process control systems. These short duration spikes can be five to ten times or more the maximum pressure, thus destroying the pressure transducers where a pressure gauge may have lasted for years withought trouble. You must always keep in mind that specyfying a higher range is not always a solution because you will sacrifice resolution. Using a snubber to clip the spikes is also a tradeoff due to the fact that it slows the response time of the transducer. We have indexed the pressure tranducers according to their Output Level and Type (Voltage - Amperage).
Low-Level [Table #1] Low-level pressure sensors-transducers have an output range of 20 to 100 mV. They are used in applications such as: Medical Equipment, Filter Monitoring, HVAC Equipment, Barometric Pressure, Pneumatic Equipment, Gas Flow Monitoring, Clean Rooms and Leak Detection |
